BIO

Multidisciplinary artist, curator Limei Lai enjoys working with paint, fabric and clay. Her themes depict her fear and love of pacific northwest life and Asian women immigrant intergenerational stories. Togetherness and inclusion are her messages. Community engagement performance installation is her passion. She believes that art not only critiques, questions, reflects, but also celebrates, thus bridges good changes.

Limei is one of the artist owners at Portland Blackfish Gallery. She is the president and curator of Playground Gallery and the vice-president of Oregon Chinese Artist Association. Her works were shown in Local 14 Art Show, Red E Café Gallery, Paragon Gallery, Old Town Association Gallery, Lansu Garden, The Place, PNCA, Playground Gallery, and The Arts Center at Corvallis. Her murals are in north Portland and Chinatown.
